i made this drawing back in july before i went to go see broken social scene in deer lake park. i did this portrait for brendan just based on a screenshot i had from the music video for “fire eye’d boy” and then i went and asked some security guards if theyd go give him the picture i made him. they thought it was rad so they suggested theyd go get brendan instead so he could accept it himself. he came and i got to meet him, he totally loved it and made a big deal about it. i was totally swooning but i played it pretty cool. so…here’s figure 1a: me and brendan together with the drawing. now, more exciting news. the music video for “major label debut” came out and its all footage from their past tours, and who’s drawing made it into the video? mine indeed. holy donuts. ok so you can see for yourself, theres about 3 seconds of kevin holding the picture up to brendan’s face just before the middle of the video. i feel like a somebody. figure 2a: the video in question.
